Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses, is a Pacific Northwest destination where natural beauty meets urban creativity. In my opinion, Portland receives a great deal of unflattering attention that it does not deserve. As with any large city, there are issues. When I visited, those issues certainly did not detract from the simple beauty of the area.
From strolling through the stunning International Rose Test Garden and admiring hilltop views at Pittock Mansion to finding peace in the peaceful sanctuary of The Grotto, the city offers something for every traveler. Known for its eco‑friendly culture and easy access to outdoor adventures like the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood, Portland is a must‑visit for those seeking a rich mix of attractions, history, and natural wonders.
