
Some areas of Florida don’t announce themselves with neon, mouse ears, or a line of traffic heading toward a theme park parking lot. It’s quieter. Older. It has lakes instead of lazy rivers, oaks rather than billboards, and an easier breath when you realize you’re not in a bustling metropolis and have arrived somewhere entirely different.
My first impression was that Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills felt less like a glossy resort and more like a small village that had grown over time.
